Starting July 1, 2025, the European Union will introduce a new energy label for dryers. Until then, there is a transition period during which you might receive an appliance with two labels: the current one and the new one. Don’t worry, that’s completely intentional.

Over the past years, dryers have become increasingly energy-efficient. Many models now fall into the highest classes, such as A+++ or even A+++-20%. While this might seem clear, in practice it makes comparison difficult—everything appears equally efficient.
To make clear distinctions again, the label has been updated. The new energy label:
Uses a straightforward scale from A to G (no plus signs),
Applies stricter and more accurate testing methods,
And makes it easier to identify truly energy-efficient appliances.
During the transition period, you might receive a dryer with two energy labels. This may look confusing, but it simply means that:
The old scale (A+++) is still shown,
And the appliance has also been tested using the new method.
Important: the appliance’s energy consumption hasn’t change, only the way it’s displayed.
For example:
A dryer labeled A+++ on the old label might have a class C on the new label. That may seem less efficient, but it isn’t, the testing standards have just become stricter.
In addition to the updated scale, the new energy label features:
A QR code that links to the official EU database with product specifications,
New icons, such as the duration of the standard drying program and the noise level.
